Start your next adventure safely and relaxed! - An introduction to our Outdoor Safety Training.

Our online outdoor safety training teaches you the most important basics for preparation and emergencies in nature – relaxed, thorough and to the point.

With over 10 years of outdoor experience, we give you practical tips for tour planning, show you an emergency scheme for recognizing medical problems and explain step by step how you can treat minor injuries yourself.

You'll also get an overview of typical diseases found in nature. To better illustrate these, we'll take you to the desert, the tropics, and the mountains – although many of these problems can just as easily occur right on your doorstep.

A clear and concise script helps you refresh your knowledge at any time. It also includes checklists, for example, what a sensible first-aid kit should really contain.

What you can expect:

  • Thorough preparation: fitness, map reading, climate, repair kits
  • Coping with stress and risks on the go
  • First aid basics: wound care, pressure bandage, infection management
  • Disease patterns clearly explained according to climate zones – with knowledge that you can apply anywhere.
  • Practical summaries for equipment, insurance and emergency communication

Ideal for:

  • For everyone who wants to be safer outdoors
  • Beginners looking for a structured introduction
  • Experienced outdoor enthusiasts who want to refresh their knowledge

Humor, heart and experience ensure that learning is not only easier, but also really fun.

Contents

Proper preparation is key: First aid begins in the mind, not in the backpack.

We focus on the most important aspects to defuse potentially dangerous situations in advance. These include fitness, map reading, climate awareness, and appropriate clothing. We'll also introduce you to a repair kit that allows you to fix backpacks, clothing, tents, and sleeping mats while on the go. You'll learn how to call for help using light signals or satellite communication and how to guide a helicopter. Finally, we'll explain why having the right insurance is crucial to avoid high rescue costs.

In addition, we'll show you how to safely treat minor injuries: from applying pressure bandages to closing wounds with superglue or Steri-Strips. We'll explain what's important when it comes to wound dressings and how to recognize infections early.

Finally, we will present a useful first aid kit and test your knowledge in a short quiz.

The course is explained in a very clear and engaging way and imparts knowledge that you won't learn in any first aid course. It's especially designed for people who actually go on outdoor trips, or at least plan to.

Thank you!

Martin R.

A practical introductory course, superbly prepared and structured, offering more than the standard first aid course .

I'm looking forward to the practical part. :-)

Alina K.

Thorsten is a fantastic instructor who uses plenty of practical examples and humor to illustrate theoretical concepts, ensuring they stick. The course covers all the essential topics for outdoor first aid and is simply enjoyable.

Torsten W.

Very easy to understand (sound/editing/structure...), excitingly and entertainingly explained, without any show and shine, focusing on the essentials. You can tell the experience and the great deal of prior thought went into the details!

First-class

Sebastian U.

Simply fantastic. The two instructors, Torsten and Merten, did a superb job. The course offered both a refresher course and the opportunity to learn a great deal of new material, especially for outdoor situations and unusual conditions. Realistic and potentially occurring illness/accident scenarios were presented with humor but the necessary seriousness. Keep up the good work!

Jan G.

Excellent. Clearly explained, and it conveys significantly more knowledge than I expected , especially regarding preparation.
